I’m Chris and I am a sibling Carer, my sister was born in 1970 with learning disabilities, epilepsy, mobility and anxiety concerns living through the ever changing social stigma. After our mother passes away and fathers health was failing fast – professional carers abused my sister both physically emotionally – within our own family home.
I have worked deep within the adult social care system since 1986. I see and understand both perspectives which has proven to be extremely valuable. I now campaign for professionals to understand the journeys that families need to walk and how to truly work together.
By Listening to family members and building trust , not only will family frustrations reduce but a better working relationship for professionals will develop and work related stress reduces.
Building a Brighter Better Safer Future for PEOPLE who live with a learning disability.
