Online Training Programme

 

Who are the sessions aimed at?
The sessions are aimed at disabled and older people looking to grow their influence
and allies working alongside them in support of this. Most places have been allocated
at no cost via SCFs People Power initiative and Think Local Act Personal. Some places
remain available across the range of sessions to people liked to the Big Connect
programme (people who draw on support and supporting staff).

 

How much do they cost
Each session is £60 plus VAT, with some free places available for people who draw on
support.

Community Organising
When: Tuesday 20th January 2026 (note: date may change) – 10am to 1pm
Objective: This workshop is full of tips and tricks on how to best work locally to build lasting communities of change.

Effective Use of Social Media to Influence and Campaign
When: Monday 26th January 2026 – 10am to 1pm
Objective: This session, will explore how powerful storytelling, authentic social media content, and community-building can drive meaningful change in social care. Drawing on real-life campaigns, Martyn will demonstrate how lived experience can be at the heart of impactful advocacy and policy influence.

Gloriously Ordinary Lives
When: Tuesday 10th February 2026 – 10am to 1pm
Objective: In this workshop you will find out more about the ideas and principles behind Gloriously Ordinary Lives and think about your role in supporting and enabling more Gloriously Ordinary Lives.
