Mathew Micklethwaite
Having spent over 10 years working within health and social care, working with many individuals from children and young people, up to older adults with varying needs leading into my current role as a service manager for children and young peoples service, and providing specialist and dedicated training for Ethical workforce solutions I have built a portfolio of knowledge, awareness and experience that can support many people to achieve and succeed. I have had to learn to navigate children’s social care in order to achieve high standards and advocate for their needs to be met and their best interest at the heart of every decision made. In recent years I have been involved in the leadership and operational aspects of children’s and young peoples services, a role that has offered a unique challenge with some incredibly rewarding successes and outcomes.
Another key passion of mine has always been sports, and having dedicated the past 12 years to developing disability sports inclusion and opportunities, this has again given me insight in to the lived experiences of individuals with a range of disabilities requiring varying levels of support and adaption in order to access sports (rugby league, basketball and American football) in order to live quality and fulfilling lives.
I am now keen to take the skills, knowledge and awareness I have built through my work in health and social care, and delivering training through Ethical workforce solutions to audiences eager to support the continued progression of services that should advocate for the very highest of standards be achieved for the future of children’s and young peoples services.
