People Power sessions with local co-producers

After discussions with people who are coproducing with local councils we are now offering on-line sessions to support their work. These are aimed at supporting people to be effective partners in local policy making. They will support people with the knowledge and skills needed to be most effective and impactful. As well as the on-line sessions every two months, we will connect interested people into wider Social Care Future sessions and projects to follow up issues.  Please invite local people you are co-producing with to register for these sessions. Principles into Practice series with Helen Sanderson:

We are really pleased that we are able to offer a series of practical sessions with Helen Sanderson and colleagues under the heading “Getting Practical for Gloriously Ordinary Lives” – sharing person centred approaches that enable relationship based support and increase choice and support linked to building and supporting great teams. These are available to anyone from councils, people who draw on support and partners and the provider community.

7th November 2024 – 1:30pm – 3:30pm – How can we practically deliver on outcomes using The Support Sequence?

This online workshop introduces The Support Sequence, a robust 7 step process that helps you to explore how to deliver on outcomes creatively, using all available resources before considering support from Adult Social Care

  • Do actions and solutions often come from the same set menu of options and lack creativity and diversity?
  • Do you want to learn how a person’s strengths, assets and resources can deliver on their outcomes?
  • Do you want to explore how to develop alternatives to just paid support for people?

3 things you will be able to do differently after the session:

  • Use The Support Sequence to practically generate creative ideas.
  • Develop an App resource with colleagues to increase confidence in using technology to deliver on outcomes.

11th December 2024 – 1:30pm – 3:30pm – How can we take stock and move forward using Person-centred Reviews?

This online workshop introduces The Person Centred Review, a process to take stock and move forwards putting the person and what matters to them at the centre of their care and support. Learn about Person Centred Team Reviews, how this approach helps teams determine purpose, set outcomes, review progress and find solutions.

  • Do reviews mostly involve professionals sitting around a table reading from assessments or reports?
  • Do you want to learn how to prepare for a successful person centred review that meets all statutory requirements?
  • Do you want to learn how to ensure reviews result in person centred outcomes that address what’s not working and move the person towards a future they want?

  • Use the working not working person centred thinking tool to complete a current reality analysis.
  • Prepare for a successful person centred review.
  • Use The outcome Sequence to help develop outcomes with the person or team.

In this 2 hour session you will learn about Wellbeing Teams 10 key principles of Values Based Recruitment and how to apply these to attracting candidates to your organisation.

In this 2 hour workshop you will learn about the Colleague Journey used in Wellbeing Teams to support team members to thrive and how you can apply some of these practices in your own  organisation.

  • Do you want to overcome the’ chasm of doom’ between appointment and start date?
  • Are you looking for ways to build trust and psychological safety in your team?
  • Do you want to retain team members you’ve recruited?

3 things you will be able to do differently after the session:

  • Use tools at induction to get to know new starters in a different way
  • Introduce ways to appreciate one another at work
  • Start to develop team agreements

6th March 2025 – 1:30pm – 3:30pm – How can we create compassionate workplaces?

In this 2 hour workshop you will learn about some of the practices Wellbeing teams used to make the workplace more compassionate. We will explore the principles and process of compassionate communication and how this can support honest and empathic conversations.

  • Do you want to be able to communicate clearly and be heard?
  • Do you want to have conversations that matter with your colleagues?
  • Do you want to be more competent and resilient when conversations are challenging?

3 things you will be able to do differently after the session:

  • Introduce feelings check ins with the team
  • Use some practices for self-compassion
  • Start to use OFNR (Observation Feeling Need Request)

10th March 2025 – 1:30pm – 3:30pm – How to introduce some of the practices from Wellbeing Teams into your organisation

  • Are you interested in introducing some of these practices into your team or organisation (even if you are not a provider)?
  • Do you want to learn how to decide what to introduce first, and how to do this?
  • Do you want to see changes in your team that will really make a difference?

In this 2 hour session you will:

  • Consider which practices would be best for your team, or your organisation
  • Understand what ‘tension’ cards are and how they can be used by your team to identify what is getting in the way of them doing their best work
  • Learn which practices relate to different tensions and how to introduce them
